Over the last 22 years, Tema Energy has evolved from a reseller and installer of power supply equipment, into a leader of the Romanian Data Center industry and one of the most top integrators of electrical, mechanical, and security systems on the local market.

As a major promoter of the industry, Tema Energy stands as the leading and most experienced data centers designer and builder in Romania, managing every stage and component of data center development, regardless of size or type. The company’s portfolio includes high-capacity data centers designed for AI, high performance computing (HPC), and Hyperscale, alongside more versatile solutions like mobile and Micro/Edge data centers.

At the heart and engine of Tema Energy stands the Team of over 75 experienced, hardworking, curious, perfectionist and ambitious professionals. This cohesive and high-performing group includes specialists, engineers, technicians, installers, economists, lawyers, managers and more.

Founded in 2002, Tema Energy has built a name for itself as an integrator of complex systems and engineering solutions for critical infrastructures and mission-critical applications. This includes Data Centers, Continuous Power Supply Systems, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, Energy Storage, Climate Control, Monitoring and Control Software Apps, Power and Auxiliary Systems for Railways, Renewable Energy, or Structured Cabling and Networking.

Throughout these years, Tema Energy has achieved numerous technological premieres and innovations on the local market for state-of-the-art data centers as well as solutions and systems integration:

  • The first Hyperscale data center campus in the region
  • The first mobile data center delivered in Romania
  • The first Uptime Institute certifications in Romania for local data centers - Tier III Design and Tier III Facility (a regional first)
  • The first DCIM (Data Center Monitoring) solution produced in Romania - DCPRO
  • The first modular Power Supply System exceeding 10 MW
  • The country's first Black Start System of over 24 MW (total power)
  • The only event dedicated to the data center industry in Romania and the largest in the region: DataCenter Forum

HISTORY & MILESTONES

2002

  • Establishment of TEMA ENERGY. Founders: Titi Manole and Theodoros Papadopoulos

2003 – 2005

  • First contracts for supply and installation of UPS and diesel generators, VRLA batteries, and rectifiers delivered to major telecom operators

2006

  • The design, installation and commissioning of the GTS Telecom data center

2007

  • The start of a new business line, Technical Facility Management for data centers, MSCs and specialized buildings. Our first customer: Vodafone.

2009

  • Building and commissioning of the second data center for GTS Telecom
  • Delivery of the first UPS systems and diesel generators of over 1,000 kVA

2010-2014

  • Mihai Manole, current CEO of the company, joins Tema Energy
  • Design and delivery of the first turnkey Mobile Data Centers
  • Development of the first data center to meet Tier III Uptime Institute standards
  • Delivery of diesel generators and UPS of over 2,000 kVA

2015

  • The supply of a 6,000 kVA Emergency Diesel Generator system for the European Laser Institute ELI-NP Magurele

2016

  • The design, supply, installation and VdS certification of the fire detection and suppression systems at the Mercedes-Benz production campuses in Sebes and Cugir
  • Supply and installation of a 19 MVA (total power) continuous power supply system, beneficiary: the Star Assembly - Mercedes-Benz factories in Romania

2017

  • First edition of DataCenter Forum Romania - a unique annual event dedicated to Data Center technologies, gathering leading industry players from Romania and the region.

2018

  • The inception of the Railway Systems business line: uninterruptible power supply systems, auxiliary equipment and monitoring & control software solutions

2019

  • The design & build of Orange / Telekom Cluj-Napoca West colocation greenfield datacenter (350 IT racks, approx. 1.5 MW)
  • Large-scale PSS (Power Supply System) designed and built for Continental Automotive Systems Sibiu

2020

  • Modular data center design and construction for Continental Automotive Systems Timisoara
  • The turnkey infrastructure (design & build) of an Operations and Control Centre (OCC) with data center for CFR in Simeria, GC: Alstom Transport

2021

  • Design & build of the greenfield ClusterPower Campus I infrastructure: one of the largest data centers in South East Europe
  • Turnkey delivery of a Mobile Data Center for the Romanian Police

2022

  • Design and construction of the largest and most modern government data center in Romania: Ministry of Internal Affairs Services HUB (in partnership with Ness Project Europe and Dataware Consulting)
  • First Tier III Design certification in Romania, and the first Tier III Facility certification in the region awarded to ClusterPower Campus I by Uptime Institute USA

2023

  • Certification of the Orange Napoca-West Data Center - Tier III Design by Uptime Institute
  • The design, construction and delivery of 4 containerized data centers to public institutions - IGI Brasov, Military Technical Academy and Apa Vital Iasi

2024

  • Start on the design and works for the expansion of the ClusterPower data centers
  • Startul proiectarii si lucrarilor pentru extinderea data centerelor ClusterPower

The forum gathers a community of operators, developers, investors, as well as professionals involved in data center design and construction, including designers, engineers, specialists and consultants.

The DataCenter Forum Conference features panels on the latest trends, challenges and experiences in the industry and explores investment opportunities in Romania and beyond.
